Classes on Waiheke Island are at the Morra Hall, in the Meeting Room around the back, a 2 minute walk away from the main village area in Oneroa, Waiheke – 115 Ocean View Road, Oneroa, Waiheke.
Body, Breath and Mind
A general class in the tradition of Desikachar. Uses asana, pranayama and reflection to release tension, increase flexibility and develop strength in body and mind. Some previous yoga experience preferred.
Ann Jocelyn is a qualified yoga teacher and therapist in the tradition of T.K.V. Desikachar. Ann is registered with the Australian Association of Yoga Therapists.
Ann has practised yoga and taught yoga on Waiheke Island for many years. Her particular interest and ongoing training is in adapting the tools and techniques of classical yoga to meet the individual needs and capabilities of her students, using the breath as the guide.
In both group and private classes, students are encouraged to work at the level appropriate to them at that time, linking body, breath and mind. Each class is designed to release tension, increase flexibility and over time, to develop strength in body and mind.
With regular practice, students often develop a greater awareness of their physical and mental capacities and an increased sense of self-acceptance.
