Experience a yoga class that will calm your mind and re-invigorate your body. You will be taught awareness for breathing and posture, how to balance your nervous system, relax your muscles and improve your strength. Every posture is well explained. Some movements will be dynamic and others slow or static. Alternative postures are offered to meet the abilities of all her students.

Mel has extensive experience in working with people who have special needs or are recovering from illness or surgery. She has been teaching yoga for the Waiheke Breast Cancer support group for years. Group classes are offered at the Waiheke Island Resort in Palm Beach.

Mel has more than 30 years of experience in yoga and personal development. She is a certified Hatha Yoga Teacher (350+ IYTA) and Hormone Yoga Therapist, Mindfulness Practitioner and a Professional Certified Coach (ACC ICF).

Helping others to be the best version of themselves is her motto. She is a founding member of the Waiheke Women’s Collective and the Island Coaches Collective (ICC). In these functions Mel organises free events in her community to improve health and wellbeing. You might also have seen her volunteering as a guide for the Waiheke Walking Festival, where she has been leading Wellbeing Walks since 2014.

Mel is available for private sessions for individuals, groups and organisations in her studio or at other venues. Mats and other props are available.

During a private class you can choose the focus or required outcome of your session. Typical topics are:

For groups or corporate events, Mel is available to lead guided visualisations, yoga sessions on a chair, mat or the beach, mindfulness introductions and group coaching sessions to enhance motivation, creativity, productivity and team spirit.

Hourly rate for individual sessions: $85
